Move the blade from bolster to point at an angle of about 22 with slight pressure over the steel. Move the arm but not the wrist.Method 2:Hold the sharpening steel at arms length in front of you. The blade is drawn at an angle of approximately 22 against the steel. The sharpening is done perfectly when both sides of the blade from bolster to tip alternatingly glide over the full length of the steel.
